2020 Volunteer Details

Santa needs your help to safely complete our mission.

Santa's Helpers Workshop for 2020 is located at:

Western Run Business Center

Santa will be following all CDC recommendations in safely completing our mission, including:

  • requiring properly fitted facemasks at all times when at Santa's Helpers Workshop

  • ensuring safe and social distancing to the greatest extent possible (the warehouse is very large and makes it possible to spread out volunteers)

  • providing lots of hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies

  • screening with temperature checks by a registered nurse

Important Details for Wrapping Volunteer Shifts:

Santa’s Helpers Anonymous' Elves will have the gifts and wrapping supplies ready for you.

We will be busy setting up and cleaning between shifts, so please don't come early. The door will open at 10 am each day.

Wear a Mask. Keep your Group Small. Be Prepared to be Screened upon Arrival by a Registered Nurse.

Please bring your own scissors.  Everything needed for wrapping will be provided by us. There will be instructions located at each table and Santa’s Staff Elves to answer questions. Veteran wrappers, please help new elves if you can. The success of our delivery of the right gift to the proper child depends totally on the accuracy of the wrapping task, so please do not hesitate to ask if you aren’t sure of something.

Dress comfortably. Though children are encouraged to help, we do not have the space for them to play either at the tables or in the rest of the space.

Note that refreshments and food will not be provided this year for everyone's safety. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink.

Important Details for Drivers:

Santa’s Helpers Anonymous' Elves will have the gifts and food ready for delivery on Christmas Eve morning at our warehouse in Sparks, MD.

We have four shifts of drivers between 8:30 - 10:30 AM and will notify you a few days before the 24th with your assigned shift time.

For each of the 3-4 families that you are assigned you will need space in your vehicle for a box of food, a bag of gifts, a wrapped blanket, a cooked turkey, gallon of milk, pumpkin pie and pound of butter. Try not to bring extraneous things in order that you will have room for everything. Once loaded you should be able to complete your deliveries in 1-2 hours. Be mindful of the weather and dress accordingly. This is an outside venture and Santa MUST deliver no matter what the weather may be.
